Description
La silencio literally translates into English as a silence. A siesta, or 15-30 minutes, is far from the three-hour break taken in the middle of the working day in Spain. After lunch, at around 2pm, the temperature reaches its peak and it is often too hot to be outside, particularly in the south of Spain. Hence the locals take a siesta and wait in the comfort of their own homes for the heat to subside.
